Get a flat rate Call (516) 229-1466MacArthur — ISP, in Ronkonkoma — is the closest airport to most of Suffolk County and it is a fraction of the hassle of JFK or LGA. Southwest, Frontier, Breeze and Avelo all fly out of it, covering Florida, the Carolinas, the Midwest and a growing list of leisure destinations.
For anyone in central or eastern Suffolk, flying from ISP instead of JFK saves an hour and a half each way and a great deal of aggravation. Our rates reflect the shorter distance — this is our least expensive airport run by a wide margin.
ISP has one terminal. Departures and arrivals are on the same level, security lines are typically under fifteen minutes, and the walk from curb to gate is a few minutes. There is no terminal confusion to manage.
Because ISP is small, you do not need the two-hour buffer that JFK demands. We generally recommend arriving 75 to 90 minutes before a domestic departure, and we will build the pickup time around that.
Meet and greet inside the terminal, or curbside directly outside baggage claim. Given the size of the building, either works and both are quick.
ISP also handles substantial general aviation traffic. If you are flying privately, give us the FBO name and tail number and we will meet the aircraft. The same applies at Republic (FRG) in Farmingdale and Gabreski (FOK) in Westhampton.
